Organizer, thinker, and coalition builder Jitu Sadiki was a founder of Black August in the California prison system. Jitu had “his hand in many pots”, including as a co-host of Think Outside The Cage on Pacifica Radio-Los Angeles (KPFK), his Comrades in the creation and maintenance of Black August and others behind the walls, his Gang Intervention and peace work, especially the builders of Black/Brown unity, and friends and associates in the lowrider community as a founder of the Super-Naturals Car Club.
Jitu epitomized the “upright man” that Ancestor Thomas Sankara of Burkina Faso talked about: an honest man, a soldier with political ideological training, not one who preyed upon the people or chose violence for corrupt, emotional, or mercenary reasons.
